Anti-Bullying Procedure
Purpose
The purpose of this procedure is to create a safe and supportive environment for all members of Priory Pumas Football Club by addressing and preventing bullying behavior.
Definition of Bullying
Bullying is any behavior that is intended to hurt, harm, or intimidate another person. It can be physical, verbal, emotional, or cyberbullying. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Physical aggression (hitting, kicking, pushing)
- Verbal abuse (name-calling, insults, threats)
- Emotional manipulation (exclusion, spreading rumors)
- Cyberbullying (harassment via social media, text messages)
Procedure
Any member of the club who believes they have been bullied, or witnesses bullying behavior, should follow these steps:
- Report the Incident: Report the bullying behavior to a coach, team manager, or club official as soon as possible.
- Documentation: Provide details of the incident(s), including dates, times, and any witnesses.
- Immediate Action: The club will take immediate steps to ensure the safety and well-being of the victim while the incident is being investigated.
- Investigation: The club will conduct a thorough investigation, including interviews with all parties involved.
- Resolution: Based on the findings, the club will take appropriate action, which may include disciplinary measures for the bully and support for the victim.
Prevention
To prevent bullying, the club will:
- Promote a positive and inclusive club culture.
- Educate members about the impact of bullying and the importance of respect and kindness.
- Encourage open communication and provide support resources.
- Implement clear policies and consequences for bullying behavior.
Review
This procedure will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and to make any necessary updates based on feedback and changes in regulations.
